Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014)

Transformers: Age of Extinction is a 2014 science fiction action film based on the Transformers franchise. It is the fourth installment of the live-action Transformers film series and stars Mark Wahlberg in the lead role. A sequel to Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the film takes place five years later, after the Decepticon invasion of Chicago. Like its predecessors, the film is directed by Michael Bay[6] and executive produced by Steven SpielbergEhren Kruger is the film's screenwriter, having written everyTransformers film since Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The film features an entirely new cast of human characters and is the first in the series to feature the Dinobots. Returning Transformers include Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ratchet, Leadfoot, Brains and Megatron (now known as Galvatron). The film was released on June 27, 2014, in IMAX and 3D.

Reception to the film was generally positive among casual film-goers, who gave it a 6.1/10,[8] but negative among film critics, who expressed an overall dislike for the acting, directing, length, and writing. It received an average rating of 18% on Rotten Tomatoes, making it the lowest rated film of the franchise, although some praised the action scenes, visual effects, and Wahlberg's and Stanley Tucci's performances. The film was a commercial success, grossing over $1 billion in worldwide box office revenue.

The Lego Movie (2014)

The Lego Movie (stylized as The LEGO Movie)[5][6] is a 2014 computer animated adventure comedy film directed and co-written by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, and starring the voices of Chris PrattWill Ferrell,Elizabeth BanksWill ArnettNick OffermanAlison BrieCharlie DayLiam Neeson, and Morgan Freeman.

It is the first film produced by Warner Animation Group. Based on the Lego line of construction toys, the film tells the story of Emmet (Pratt), an ordinary Lego minifigure prophesied to save the universe from the tyrannical Lord Business (Ferrell).
It was released theatrically on February 7, 2014. The movie was a critical and commercial success, with many critics highlighting its visual style, humour, voice acting, and heartwarming message. It earned more than $257 million in North America and $210 million in other territories for a worldwide total of over $468 million.
A sequel, titled The Lego Movie 2 is scheduled to be released on May 26, 2017, with Chris McKay set to direct. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will return as producers.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is a 2014 American superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Captain America, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the sequel to 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger and the ninth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, with a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who had also worked in The First Avenger. It stars Chris Evans as Captain America, leading an ensemble cast that includes Scarlett JohanssonSebastian StanAnthony MackieCobie Smulders,Frank GrilloEmily VanCampHayley AtwellRobert Redford, and Samuel L. Jackson. In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America, Black Widow, and Falcon join forces to uncover a conspiracy within S.H.I.E.L.D. while facing a mysterious assassin known as the Winter Soldier.

A major influence in The Winter Soldier was conspiracy fiction from the 1970s such as Three Days of the Condor, with the script also drawing from the Winter Soldier story arc written by Ed Brubaker. The script was written in 2011, with the Russo brothers entering negotiations to direct in June 2012 and casting beginning the following month. Principal photography commenced in April 2013 in Los Angeles, California before moving to Washington, D.C. and ClevelandOhio. While the directors aimed for more realism, with focus on practical effects and intense stunt work, 2,500 visual effects shots were done by six different companies.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier premiered in Los Angeles on March 13, 2014. It was released internationally on March 26, 2014 and in North America on April 4, 2014, in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D. The film became a critical and commercial success, having grossed over $714 million worldwide. A sequel set to be directed by the Russo brothers is scheduled for release on May 6, 2016.

Guardians of the Galaxy is a 2014 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the tenth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film was directed by James Gunn, who wrote the screenplay with Nicole Perlman, and features anensemble cast including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, and Benicio del Toro. In Guardians of the Galaxy, Peter Quill forms an uneasy alliance with a group of extraterrestrial misfits who are on the run after stealing a coveted orb.

Screenwriter Nicole Perlman began working on the screenplay in 2009. Producer Kevin Feige first publicly mentioned Guardians of the Galaxy as a potential film in 2010, and Marvel Studios announced that the film was in active development at the San Diego Comic-Con International in July 2012. Gunn was hired to write and direct the film that September. In February 2013, Pratt was hired to play Peter Quill / Star-Lord, and the supporting cast was filled out over the next several months. Filming began in July 2013 atShepperton Studios, England, with filming continuing in London before wrapping in October 2013. Post-production finished on July 7, 2014.
Guardians of the Galaxy premiered in Hollywood on July 21, 2014. It was released in theaters August 1, 2014 in the United States in3D and IMAX 3D. The film became a critical and financial success, having grossed $644 million worldwide. Much of the praise went to the film's light-hearted humor, Gunn's direction, and the performances of the cast. A sequel has been announced and is scheduled to be released on July 28, 2017.
